4.1

Welcome to Compass Kitchener / Introductions

Compass Members introduced themselves. CAO Dan Chapman and Mayor Vrbanovic popped into the meeting briefly to welcome the new term members and to thank them for volunteering on behalf of Council.

4.2

Election of Chair and Vice-Chair Positions

J. Stephens-Wells and T. Glover each spoke on their past experience as Chair and Vice Chair to members before making nominations. J. Stephens-Wells nominated T. Glover for Chair and T. Glover nominated J. Young as Vice Chair. Both motions were unanimous.

Advisory Committee Training & Orientation

M. Mills provided a presentation on committee roles, responsibilities, code of conduct and meeting procedure to the Compass Kitchener group. M. Mills also responded to Q & A's from members following the presentation.

2023-2026 Strategic Plan Report Card

T. Glover explained the role of Compass Kitchener members in the Strategic Plan. S. Sweazey reviewed the previous Strategic Plan Report Card and the Evaluation Framework. J. Stephens-Wells shared the cycle of the Committee's work.

S. Sweazey shared the feedback received from CLT on the new Evaluation Framework; noting they were happy to see four criteria areas and nothing to revise. 

T. Glover expanded on the report card evaluation process and reason behind the changes. S. Sweazey indicated she will work with the project managers to provide briefings to Compass members on how their project is progressing, in the month of February. T. Glover reviewed the proposed Evaluation Framework for the 2023-2026 Strategic Plan with the new members. Compass Members discussed rationale for deciding not to go with a grade approach.

S. Sweazey shared with new members to expect Strategic Plan Plan updates to be provided quarterly in April, August & December.

Compass Kitchener members briefly discussed the 2025 Workplan and when to hold the All Advisory Committees meeting in April. Compass members agreed to host the meeting on April 9, 2025.

2025 Compass Kitchener Meeting Schedule

Compass Kitchener members were provided with the list of the Compass Kitchener meeting dates for 2025. A. Remillard to send calendar invites out to the Compass group for the calendar year.
